After a few weeks time I’ve gathered some parts and talked to a few people to build the rest of the Campeur build.
First off, I’m look at January 1st thereabouts to complete the build. I have the pleasure of having Velo Classique complete the build and do it correctly. They specialize in old frame building, painting and even new rando building. I could take it to my LBS but chances are they would screw up the build, especially the fenders. They already have the headset’s brake hanger crooked. Really?
Since the last post I’ve gathered:
VO Double Crankset – 46/34T – no triple crank, a 34 T ring is pretty high for a gear and 46 is plenty of teeth. Really looking forward to having a different gear ratio on the front.
Looking forward to finishing this process. I feel confident Velo Classique’s recommendations and care of putting it together will make a great end product. Plus this is a first for them putting a Campeur together. This frame is making a grand entrance to the Rando/Touring community. Although, no Boulder/Rivendall frame I’m confident it will be a fantastic bike.
If you’re in the DC area, would love to do some rides with some groups.
